Our Process

Our priority is to capture genuine, breathtaking images that tell your story. We accomplish this by making the entire experience from booking with us to receiving your final images and prints seamless. Have any questions that aren't listed below? Contact us anytime and we would love to chat! 

Booking your photoshoot

Step 1

Contact us with the some details like the type of session, number of people (and pets) we will be photographing, dates you're looking to book and a bit of your vision for the style and location of your photoshoot.

Step 2

We will send you an agreement for you to look over and e-sign. We request a 25% retainer to hold your date and time along with the back up date if applicable. Then we will have a phone or email styling consultation to discuss the outfits, color palettes, picturesque location options and other important details for your session!

Step 3

We will follow up with you 1-2 weeks before your photoshoot to confirm all of the details. When your session date arrives Ryan will show up ready to create great memories and capture beautiful photos!

FAQ
  • When will I get my downloads?
    If you choose our All Inclusive option the photos on the gallery will be ready to download the moment we send it to you (typically within three-five weeks of your photoshoot.) If you choose a collection with a proof gallery we will send you the link to the online gallery within 1-2 weeks. Once you choose your downloads we will additionally edit them, which usually takes up to a week to complete. We offer additional editing for the images in the All Inclusive gallery as well and you will be able to make a favorites list with additional editing requests, if desired. If you are needing your photo delivery expedited, please don't hesitate to ask and we will see if we can work within your timeframe!
  • Do you offer indoor sessions?
    Yes! In the winter months it can be difficult to venture outside for photos, especially with babies and toddlers. For families, couples, milestone and newborn sessions we offer naturally lit, lifestyle sessions in our clients' home or vacation rental.
  • Can I purchase additional downloads from the proof gallery?
    If you fall in love with all of the photos on the gallery you'll have the option to purchase additional downloads. All of our downloads come in high resolution for printing up to 30"x40" without loss of quality.
  • What can additional editing include?
    The photos on the proof gallery are pre-edited for viewing. We will adjust lighting and color to prepare the photos for you and your family/significant other to enjoy looking through! Once you make a favorites list of the photos you would like to order we will hand edit each image to ensure the crop, lighting, color and other details are ready to print and post. We offer more extensive editing like face swaps, removal of blemishes, editing out distracting background elements among other improvements when possible and needed.
  • How many photos will be in our gallery?
    A gallery typically includes 100-150 images so you can choose your favorite facial expressions, poses and candid shots!
  • Do you travel outside of Park and Summit Counties?
    We love to travel! If you love our work and want us to come to you we are willing to do so. We charge a travel fee depending on where you'd like us to go.
  • Do you offer Mini-Sessions?
    We offer seasonal minis when we are able to! If you would like to stay in the loop about times we offer for minis you can sign up for our mailing list found below.
  • Do you photograph weddings?
    We do not take weddings unless you are having an emergency and we happen to be available last minute. We do occasionally photograph elopements and micro-weddings as our schedule allows!
  • Do you offer RAW images?
    We do not sell or give away unedited, RAW images.
  • Will we receive black and white versions of our images?
    Not only do we give you a B&W version of every download we deliver, we also include a timeless faded edit.
  • Can I bring my pet(s) to my session?
    Yes! Please let us know if you'll be bringing your pet with you to your photoshoot so we can choose the best location and discuss their needs. We consider them part of the family, so we don't charge an additional fee if tell us they'll be coming to your session.
  • Will you help us with posing?
    We have a bit of a posing philosophy and it stems from our biggest priority- helping everyone stay happy and engaged! Rather than stiff poses or telling you exactly where to place your hands we prefer to keep the experience lighthearted by prompting interaction and laughter with one another. At our extended family sessions we typically begin with the traditional entire family shots and then we transition into a variety of posed and candid photos. For families and couples sessions we take traditional "looking at the camera" photos but also emphasize a lifestyle approach and really encourage you to experience the time you are spending with your loved ones. For senior sessions our goal is to get to know you and your interests so your session can be laid back and fun!
  • Why do you use two cameras?
    It may seem like 2 cameras is overdoing it but there are many reasons why Ryan brings multiple camera bodies and lenses to most of our sessions- 1) Artistic Ability: Ryan only uses prime lenses for portraiture. A prime lens is fixed at one focal length. You can't zoom with prime lenses which is why we have a variety of more zoomed in lenses and wider lenses at our disposal. Ryan chooses which lenses to bring to a session based on the number of subjects and the location so he can take a variety of creative and artistic shots. Prime lenses help Ryan to isolate the subject with the highest quality glass the industry has to offer. 2) Different Lenses: Some photographers will change their lens on site but having two cameras ready gives Ryan the ability to capture a moment from two different perspectives without missing anything. 3) Photo Security: If something were to happen to one camera or card there's a backup camera. Although this has never happened to us we think it's better to be safe than sorry!
  • Do you offer a local's discount?
    If you live in Park or Summit County full time be sure to let us know so we can give you 10% off of our normally priced packages!
  • Can you use my favorite song in the video?
    Without music licenses it is against the law for us to use somebody else's music. With official permission we can use the copy-written song, otherwise we have an extensive collection of music we have licenses to use in our videos.
  • Do you offer unedited and uncut footage?
    Yes! We charge a fee per minute of unedited footage you would like to purchase.
  • Do you offer wedding videography?
    We would love to discuss your vision for video of your special day! We take a documentarian style approach. If you like our work and we are available on your date let's schedule a phone call to see if we are a good fit for you!
  • Will there be drone shots in my final video?
    Ryan is an FAA certified drone pilot and we almost always incorporate aerial views into our edited videos.
  • Do you offer real estate walk-through videos?
    We do! Our walk-through videos include aerial shots or the property, timelapses of the sky, buttery smooth shots of each room, royalty free music and interview footage if desired.
  • How does payment work?
    Once you decide on a package and date we will send over an agreement to e-sign. We request a 25% retainer to book your date(s) and time(s) using Venmo, credit card or mailed/hand delivered check. The remainder is due the date of your session using Venmo, credit card, cash or check.
  • Do you offer a military/first responder discount?
    We give all active and veteran first responders and military service members a 10% off discount of any of our regularly priced package options.
  • Do you offer a local's discount?
    We offer a 10% discount off of any regularly priced packages to full time residents of Park and Summit Counties.
  • Can I purchase a gift certificate or pay for someone's package?
    Absolutely! We love to create beautiful gift baskets with certificates to help you give the gift of photography! We will hand deliver baskets when the recipient is in Park or Summit Counties.
  • What if I can't afford your services?
    In addition to payment plans we are open to trades for photo and video work. We'd love to hear from you!
  • Do you offer payment plans?
    Yes! We want everyone to be able to invest in quality photography and video that documents their priceless memories. Please inquire about the type of plans we offer.
  • Do you offer a non-profit discount?
    We are happy to offer discounted rates for non-profit events, videos and portrait sessions. Please reach out with details about your vision!
  • What do you charge for travel?
    We do not charge for travel for sessions within Park and Summit Counties! Check out our map at the link below for travel fees to other Colorado counties. Please contact us directly for travel fees outside of CO.
